About

ABOUT

Mission

The mission of the American Gymnastics Alumni Association is to reconnect with former US elite gymnasts, foster a sense of community among alumni, and bring positivity to the gymnastics community.

Through camaraderie and mentorship, we strive to build a strong and united support network that celebrates our shared experiences and creates a safe space for members to unite.

Why We're Here

Elite gymnasts sacrifice much of their childhood, adolescence and early adulthood for a physically and mentally demanding sport

The cost of becoming one of the best gymnasts is often long-term, and sometimes life-long, psychosocial and physical challenges from intense competition and injury

Support networks are hard to come by, especially those dedicated to providing a safe and encouraging environment for former athletes retiring from the top of their sport in their early 20’s

AGAA exists to  provide support for former elite gymnasts as they navigate the transition to life after elite gymnastics and beyond

What We Do

Build Community

Creating a safe space for members to share their triumphs and challenges with others who have lived the same experience

Organizing national, intergenerational events to foster community, knowledge sharing and sense of belonging

Grow our Network

Creating connections within the gymnastics community long after leaving the competition floor

Developing and leveraging industry relationships to cultivate career opportunities and support professional growth

Provide Mentorship

Providing support during the transition out of NCAA and/or elite gymnastics

Supporting members dealing with loss of identity, structure, camaraderie and perceived value

Guiding members towards additional resources

Through the offering of career networking and discussion boards, hosting of special events including annual receptions, community building activities, and alumni watch parties, and the raising of money to support new alumni and our mission, AGAA enhances the relationship and experience between former elite gymnasts and the broader gymnastics community.

We strongly believe that AGAA has the potential to thrive through the empowerment of generations of the Nation’s top gymnasts.

With community support, AGAA can continue to support US National, World and Olympic Team Members as they navigate the triumphs and hardships of elite gymnastics and transition to life after. By harnessing this support, we can ensure a sustainable and impactful future for the organization.
